Create one approved profile

Getting started with GAPP is as simple as taking a selfie. Your face scan is privately converted into an encrypted mathematical representation called a face embedding, made up of 512 values. We’ve designed this process so we don’t need to see your selfie. In fact, no one can see your scanned profile image, not even you!

To help protect your account, our third-party verification provider confirms your mobile number over an encrypted connection during setup. You complete this verification on the device in your possession, helping link your account to a mobile number you control and adding another layer of security from the start.

Take or choose the photo

Take a photo and pocket your phone. With automatic sharing, GAPP intelligently and privately shares the image with everyone who appears in it. You can also manually select an existing photo. GAPP tags any existing users in your selected photo. For people in your photo whom we don’t know yet, you simply tag them manually and press ‘Share’. GAPP then does its magic.

It compares mathematical face embeddings with your privately enrolled profile, applying layered quality checks and similarity thresholds—ensuring your photos find you with confidence and care.

GAPP builds privacy and protection into the sharing process through encrypted facial profiles and complex match validation. Layered safeguards check that facial data is valid and that unique encrypted matching requirements are met—further protecting you and your information.

Approved recipients receive their copy

People who are manually tagged and whom we don’t yet know receive an invite welcoming them to effortlessly and securely set up their own profile. GAPP then works its magic with the new user’s unique 512 embedded data points to confirm they appear in the tagged photo. After that, the image is unlocked and lands in the new user’s photo library.
